In some poorer villages around Ubud, the children are often malnourished and under-parented, as the parents struggle to find enough work to support the family.

Khuti funded the establishing of a food garden on the premises of the school.

The children learned gardening and self-support, co-operation, greening the environment, composting, and also provided an ongoing supply of fruit to eat during breaks.
